A little bit about the new site

I have to confess. We live in an age where technology changes, websites are constantly updated, and new ways of communicating are being developed as I write this. I decided to refresh this site so it would be easier to manage my content, and allow myself to participate in more conversations. In my eyes, this site is far from finished, and the old saying that the real nitty gritty doesn’t start until the day site is launched, still holds true to this day.

The site is built using Expression Engine. A CMS I have some client experience with, but something I decided to really take advantage of on my own work. The code was created in Panic’s Coda, and small snippets of jQuery integrated into the experience.

Without making a big deal about my attempt at writing again, please feel free to check back often as the plan for the site is to be maintained on a more regular basis, serving as a ground for my work to shine through.

    Hi Nate,

I think you’ve got a very slick looking portfolio site! It’s something you should be very proud of! I have definitely been enjoying your collection of portfolio pieces on your portfolio page.

As a web designer myself and recent graduate with a B.S. in Web Design and Multimedia, there have been times where I think a project could use something else, whether that be another design element, etc…sometimes I have to move on and accept that I’ve done a great job. Perfection can really drive us down!

I remember I had classmates that would say, “Why don’t you have this kind of work, or other work on your portfolio”?

My answer always remains the same…A portfolio is a work in progress! Just because we design a portfolio doesn’t mean that we STOP! We continue and add more work to it!

Thanks for sharing, and continued success!

    -Rob

I came across this site via Best Web Gallery. Just wanted to let you know how awesome it is. It’s obvious that a lot of thought and care has gone into it, and the decisions you’ve made are all really tasteful. This is one I’ll be coming back to . You should be proud!
